one step at a time

There is something so simple and beautiful about fall in Minnesota.  It is extraordinary.  After a busy summer and the remarkable journey to Alaska and back, October has come as a welcomed time to rest and regroup.

Alaska was unlike anything I have experienced here in the lower fourty-eight, as they call it. It is extreme. Everything about it is extreme. The mountains are tall and the valleys are vast. The temperatures, the amount of light and darkness in a day, the rivers, the animals… it is all just very extreme. Although we did not come back with the animals we were hoping to get, we brought back an irreversible mark that only the most beautiful things can make on the soul. There was an intoxicating aspect to it there, and it lingers even though I have been home a while now. I would like to think that was the first of many trips I will take there.

Looking forward, I am so excited for my  upcoming concerts. I will be playing at St. Paul’s Newman Center on November 2nd, , as well as SDSU on the 7th and then return to the University of Mary in Bismark, ND on November 8th, to name a few. Then I hope to travel south and play a few more local shows.

The newest update on my third album is that slowly but surely the pieces are coming together. I have faith that the album will come out exactly when it should and I am very excited for when it does. It is a journey that is taking one step at a time and I am learning to love the pace.
